Rankings
WBS sets high standards in both research and teaching. We have won acclaim and approval from all the leading national and international assessors and accreditation bodies as well as from independent media.
The December 2008 Research Assessment Exercise rated 75 percent of our research at 3* and above, placing us third in the UK. WBS submitted 130 academics for assessment, nearly 90 percent, so this statistic is a real reflection of high quality running across the breadth and depth of research at WBS. HEFCE has separately rated teaching at WBS as ‘excellent’, which is the highest level given in the assessment.
