Partnerships with relevance

Working in partnershipWBS works with businesses and organisations to produce world-leading research in all fields of management. Our research is internationally rated, and has direct benefit to the companies which participate.

Corporate and industrial consortia directly support some of our research centres through commissioned research. Our external partners often sit on the advisory boards of the research centres. This proves to be a benefit to WBS and our partners as it ensures that our work is relevant and consistent.

Successful examples of this approach to research include:

The Centre for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (CSME) specialises in the rigorous analysis of SME and innovation policy and support mechanisms. Centre staff work with local, national and international agencies and departments in the design and evaluation of policy initiatives.

Financial Options Research Centre (FORC) bridges the gap between leading academic work on financial markets and the needs of practitioners and contributes to the Warwick Finance Seminar Series.

The International Centre for Governance & Public Management (IGPM) works closely with public sector bodies and other not-for-profit organisations, both in an advisory capacity and for research purposes. Members of this group work with the Chartered Management Institute, the Sunningdale Institute, the NIHR's (National Institute for Health Research) Health Services and Delivery Research programme, as well as undertake interdisciplinary work with the University of Warwick's Medical School and the Warwick Institute of Health.

The work of the Unit for the Study of Innovation, Knowledge & Organisational Networks (IKON) includes support for policy and practitioner groups through various forms of engagement including production of commissioned reports, and developing and managing The Knowledge and Innovation Network (KIN) whose members include leading organisations from private and public sectors.
