Biography
Before embarking on an academic career Derek worked in the financial services industry where he was a Director of Kleinwort Benson Investment Management and the Managing Director of the Tata Asset Management Company in Mumbai. During this time he lived for extended periods in the UK, USA, India and Taiwan. He has also worked in Thailand, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong and Canada.
