Diploma in Applied Management Taster
4 - 7pm, Thursday 2 September 2010

The Warwick Graduate Diploma in Applied Management is designed to develop an understanding of pragmatic managerial and commercial models and theories. Delegates will learn to apply these to issues and challenges in the workplace and develop entrepreneurial approaches to solving real business-critical problems.

Nick Barclay said: "The new Diploma will be an excellent springboard for managers to get to grips with the skills and approaches required to enhance their effectiveness within their own organizations. I am looking forward to delivering an exciting and dynamic programme that will challenge, inspire and delight its participants."

Warwick Midlands Alumni- Car Treasure Hunt
2 - 5.30pm, Sunday 19 September 2010

Organisers, committee members Clive South and David Suggett will set testing clues to send you scouring around the local countryside.

Family, and friends and all connected to the Warwick community are welcome.

Entrants can be any age and teams of any number dependant upon the size of your vehicle! There will be a few family friendly clues get watching cBeebies if there are no children in your party.

Prizes - 'Dinner for Four' and a'Food for Thought'hamper will be the treasure trove for the lucky winning team and the runners up!

5.30pm, 30 June 2010: International Financial Reform Seminar in Beijing

The Warwick Commission on International Financial Reform brought together a range of world-class economists, political scientists, and lawyers from both the scholarly and policy worlds to explore how international finance reform can move beyond questions of architecture and towards how it may be possible to build consensus.

The event was held on Wednesday 30 June at the St Regis Hotel, Beijing, China. Speaking at the event were Professors Richard Higgott,Mark Taylor,and Len Seabrooke, and responding to the Commission was H E Ma Zhengang, former Chinese Ambassador to the UK.

6 - 8.30pm, 29 June 2010: Midlands Alumni - Secrets of Successful growth- Entrepreneurship in a Recession

Alumni from both Warwick and WBS came together at the offices of Wright Hassall, event sponsors, on the 29th June to hear Denys Shortt, a recognised top UK entrepreneur and founder of DCS Europe plc speak. Denys shared his experience as a serial entrepreneur and demonstrated how he has grown his business from zero to £120m turnover employing more than 200 people, winning business and entrepreneur awards along the way.
