WBS Alumni Association

Mentoring Programme

The 2012 programme has now closed. The next intake for applicants will be for the 2013 Programme. Applications for 2013 will be made available October 2012.

Membership Programme

If you are a WBS student or alumnus, seeking self-development or clarity for your way forward, one of our mentors can help you. The programme is open to current students and graduates of WBS. It starts in March each year, and places you with a mentor for two years. For the 2012 intake the start date will be Friday 23 March, and we will accept up to 150 new members.

Mentoring Programme benefits include:

  • Selection and matching process
  • Dedicated personal mentor
  • Induction/Networking event (Year 1) - a face to face introductory meeting with individual mentor, or a steering group mentor or wbsLive induction session
  • Annual face to face networking event on campus (Year 2)
  • Access to an online toolkit/case studies post matching

If you are accepted, you must pay a subscription fee of £200. This fee covers the costs of the face-to-face events, the administration of the application process and the cost for developing materials such as the online toolkit, associated with this programme. Our mentors themselves are all volunteers.

We hope to roll out the entrepreneurship pilot business start-ups mentoring programme (funded by the London Chamber of Commerce) currently supporting eight mentees in April 2012. We will keep you updated via our alumni eNewsletter for graduates, and my.wbs for students. This programme links in with our entrepreneurship network, WBS:EN. Find out more about WBS:EN.

We have listed all of our participating mentors under their current business discipline, although many are to be found in more than one section, depending on their breadth of experience.

Why do mentoring? Hear from Emma Hardy, Commercial Manager at Mouchel, and Sanjiv Patel, Principal at Integral Wealth Management.
