giving something back
Douglas Banning (FTMBA 2006-07) set up a pharmaceutical company at the beginning of 2010, aimed at making health care accessible and affordable to developing nations, notably in Africa. The company is DLB Pharma Ltd, based in Cambridgeshire. Douglas explains: 'Although we are based in the UK, we now have bases in two West African countries and one in East Africa. This has been a lifelong dream of mine and I am very excited about the prospect of being able to give something back.
'Incidentally, I have a former classmate Dustie Capellina as one of my non-executive directors and current DLMBA student Amidou Njie is responsible for the company's finances. I also work on a freelance basis as an independent advisor to the pharmaceutical industry as a Health Economics, Market Access & Reimbursement expert, helping them write value dossiers in support of their products.'
