The Warwick Business Growth Network (WBGN) has held the first of its 'Member Hosted' events at Reabrook Limited, a privately owned company that produces and supplies products to many High Street companies under their own brand names.

Malcolm Watkins and Tony Brealey, joint owner managers, shared their learning experiences from Reabrook's 'growth journey' with fellow WBGN members, who are all SME owner managers from across the Midlands. This has delivered high growth and over achievement against target since the successful management buy-out by the current executive team in 2006.

Reabrook is a founding member of WBGN which was established in partnership with the University of Warwick and Warwick Business School to support high growth SMEs with their existing and future business growth planning. Reabrook has recently won the Burton Mail 'Business of the Year' award for its high growth and fantastic financial performance, despite the current trading conditions

During the event fellow WBGN owner managers learnt how Reabrook has approached a number of challenges that growth companies face including - the generation of ideas and knowledge for growth; the benefits and implications of diversification; optimisation of work force potential and how research and development can contribute to new business development. This was followed by a tour of the manufacturing operations based across a 16 acre site in Moira.

The Warwick Business Growth Network was established to provide a sustainable organisation to support the SME's achieving or seeking sustainable high business growth community. Its purpose is to provide a Knowledge Sharing Network enabling like-minded businesses across the Midlands to engage and share experiences and best practice to enable problems to be solved and lessons to be learned from each other.
