The Warwick Diploma in Public Leadership & Management
We believe that learning flourishes when applying theoretical ideas to practical problems of policy and decision-making. Our postgraduate diploma is based on high quality research and thinking, but also set in the context of your own experience and of the challenges you face in the world of policy and practice.
We will draw on your practical experience to bring together theory and practice and to help you explore the complex realities facing you as a policy maker and manager, now and in the future. We'll use case studies of practical decision-making to test new concepts and frameworks against those realities. All our programme activities focus on the practical application of learning to the complex challenge of public leadership, strategic and operational management, and service provision and delivery.
Application for the 30 places are accepted all year round, but by 30 April for June intake at the latest. Applications received after this date may be deferred to a later intake.
The diploma develops your skills and capabilities as an experienced manager of public services. It is a cross service programme that attracts candidates from all areas of the public services and levels of government. Each of the taught modules covers an essential area of management competency and we use a wide variety of teaching methods to stretch and develop your skills.

Upgrade to a masters
To convert your Diploma into a masters degree, return to WBS within eight years of graduating to complete two further modules and another 8,000 word dissertation. Alternatively, enrol for the MSc in Public Leadership & Management from the start. Learn more
