Ibukunoluwa Ibitoye's story
Get the vital skills to succeed in the financial arena
My first degree was from the University of Kent and my professors there recommended Warwick.
WBS is seen as innovative and having entrepreneurial spirit which gives a balance between academic life and the working world.
It has a fantastic reputation for academic excellence, offers good career prospects, and is young and modern - it's a real alternative to Oxford and Cambridge.
I want to be an economist or financial analyst in the city so I need to demonstrate a good command of finance and economics.
I have found the teaching at WBS both interesting and challenging;
you have to think beyond the box in order to be able to provide critical analysis.
The teaching is clearly research-led but the course also equips you with the vital skills to succeed in the business community improving your oral and written communication, team working, presentation techniques, and developing professionalism.
It also gives you a taste of coping under pressure and dealing with high volumes of information.
Corporate finance was very interesting.
It places emphasis on application and analysis as well as a firm grounding in economics, which is ideal to pursue a career in business.
I was particularly impressed by the style of the corporate finance lecturer.
He has a good level of personal interaction with the students and is always quick to provide invaluable support and advice when needed.
I have had an enjoyable and invaluable year at Warwick in a beautiful and comfortable study environment.
WBS gives you get the opportunity to network with a diverse range of people and WBS students are respected in the business community.
It has truly been a unique experience.
