Simon Owen, Senior Partner and Managing Director at EMEA Enterprise Risk Services, Deloitte LLPdelivered an excellent presentation on the topic of The Cyber War: Why security matters.
The digital revolution is driving business innovation and growth, yet also exposing us all to new and emerging threats. 2011 saw an unprecedented level of cyber attacks on large organisations and this, coupled with intense media and public scrutiny has led to long term disruption and severe repercussions for these companies, their brands and reputations across the globe.
Simon's talk gave an insight into the growing motivation and sophistication behind the 'cyber war', he looked closely at the serious business implications of a successful cyber attack as well as touching briefly on the defences some organisations are starting to put in place.
