Professor Erwin Hans is a co-founder of the Center for Healthcare Operations Improvement & Research (CHOIR) research center for healthcare OR/OM research in the Netherlands. |
CHOIR’s research is mostly about optimizing hospital processes. Particularly topics like optimized access to cancer diagnostics and treatment and integral hospital capacity management are high on the research agenda. CHOIR works closely with various healthcare providers in the Netherlands, and strives to make an impact with their research, through various valorisation activities and spin-offs.
This presentation will give an overview of current (practice driven) and future research. Also, we will discuss the striking lack of impact of Healthcare OR/OM research, and CHOIR’s lessons learnt.
