Biography
Julia holds a PhD degree in Information Systems and Management from Rotterdam School of Management Erasmus, The Netherlands. Her research and consultancy work revolves around outsourcing and offshoring of services, globally distributed teams, and managing knowledge. Julia holds a visiting position at Vrjie University Amsterdam and Associate Fellow at LSE Outsourcing Unit. Julia is a regular presenter in international conferences and conventions. She published her work in numerous academic and professional journal including The Wall Street Journal, Communications of the ACM, MISQ Executive, European Journal of Information Systems, Journal of Information Technology, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Information & Management, Journal of Information Systems, Cutter Consortium and others. Julia is the co-author of "Knowledge Processes in Globally Distributed Contexts" (2008), "The Handbook of Global Outsourcing and Offshoring" (2009) and other books.
Julia is the co-founder of the annual Global Sourcing Workshop (www.globalsourcing.org.uk); Senior Editor for Journal of IT Teaching Cases and on the Editorial Board of IT and People journal. She acted as guest editor for several special issues on Global Sourcing: for Journal of IT in 2008, IT and People in 2009 and IEEE Transaction of Engineering Management in 2010.
Julia is acting as an Academic Director for Master in Information Systems and Management program at WBS. She is teaching courses related to outsourcing and offshoring on MBA and Master levels and on various executive teaching courses.
