Biography

Principle investigator on a Warwick IMRC project funded by EPSRC to explore and evaluate Lean and modelling in the Health Sector and co-investigator of an EPSRC project to explore the potential of automated simulation output. Member of the EPSRC college and of the editorial team of Health Care Management Science, Co-Chair of 2009 OR Society conference at Warwick. Has had funded projects and consultancy from the Department of Health, Health Authorities, EPSRC, Health Technology Assessment and pharmaceutical companies. Experienced in teaching simulation and a range of OR subjects. Associate Dean for Academic Policy and Practice in WBS.

Research interests

models to support service and strategic planning in the health service; simulation techniques for modelling complex systems; using simulation in determining the relative benefits of screening and in evaluating resource use in long term disease; infectious disease modelling; evaluation of the use of Lean and modelling in patient pathways; the provision of simple and reliable simulation output.
