Local Government Centre
The Local Government Centre (LGC) is an expression of the University of Warwick's growing interest in governance, public policy and public management. These are examined in the context of the changing inter-relationships between the state, the market and civil society, which requires fundamentally different theories of governance, policy-making and strategic management.
The main focus of LGC's work is local political, economic, social and organisational strategies. We are particularly interested in those issues that confront local authorities at the level of corporate and inter-agency policy making and management. Relations between central and local government are also theorised and researched.
LGC has an expanding executive development facet, alongside contributions to short course and doctoral programmes.
