Second British Academy Fellowship awarded to Behavioural Science

At its Annual General Meeting on 19 July 2012, the British Academy elected Nick Chater, Professor of Behavioural Science, amongst its 38 new Fellows. Fellowships are awarded to highly distinguished academics, recognised for his or her outstanding research. This is the second Fellowship awarded to the Behavioural Science group at Warwick Business School. Graham Loomes received his Fellowship in 2010.

Professor Nick Chater said: "I'm absolutely delighted. It is wonderful to have the importance of Behavioural Science recognized in this way."

The British Academy, established by Royal Charter in 1902, is the national body that champions and supports the humanities and social sciences. It aims to inspire, recognise and support excellence and high achievement across the UK and internationally. Nick Chater joined WBS in 2010, after holding chairs in psychology at Warwick and then at UCL. He has over 200 publications, has won national awards for psychological research, and has served as Associate Editor for the journals Cognitive Science, Psychological Review, and Psychological Science. He was elected a Fellow of the Cognitive Science Society in 2010. Nick advises government and the private sector on behavioural change.
