New professors at WBS add depth and breadth to faculty expertise
In recent months, WBS has appointed six new professors and promoted two existing members of faculty to professor level, bringing the total number of professors at WBS to 45. In this feature, we profile four of these professors - Söhnke Bartram, Gerard Hodgkinson, Duncan Shaw and George Wright, all new to WBS.

A large research grant for a large project
WBS Professor Victor Podinovski has been awarded a €236,000 (£205,000) European Union grant for research project Integrated Econometric and Mathematical programming models into an amendable policy and market analysis tool using FADN database.
Steering the UK economy through global turbulence
The first of the new WBS Guest Lecture series took place on Tuesday 25 October at WBS, and featured Professor Andrew Sentance, who has just completed his 5-year term on the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee. Steering the UK economy through global turbulence was the title of his lecture.
Research funding application success
WBS Professor of Public Management Graeme Currie has been awarded a Service Delivery and Organisation grant worth over £308,000 by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).
Delegates from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad visit WBS
Earlier this month, 22 high level students from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) arrived at Warwick Business School for two weeks, as part of the International Immersion element of their course, the Postgraduate Programme for Executives - a one year full-time Executive MBA.
Summer graduation
This summer, 996 WBS graduands became graduates, and a total of 2,092 people, including graduates, their friends and family members, and WBS staff attended the buffet lunches in the Rootes Panorama suites.
Regulation in the energy industry
Speakers from the world of business and academia recently met with students on the Warwick Global Energy MBA to debate how governments seek to regulate the supply and consumption of energy, and to discuss recent trends in the energy sector.
Innovative work results in team win for 'MBA Student of the Year Award'
Some truly excellent nominations were received for the WBS MBA Student of the Year Award, making the final decision on the overall winner a very difficult one. In the end, it was not a single individual chosen as the winner, but a team.
Extra-curricular successes for WBS undergraduates
No less than 23 WBS undergraduate students have won awards in this year's University of Warwick Advantage Awards out of a total of 163 awarded.
