Hazards of globalisation

With increasing globalisation comes not only greater opportunities for trade and growing business, but also more uncertainty and risk, including intellectual property theft. Professor Simon Collinson comments on this issue on The Economist's web site:

"Over the short term, you lose a product, and that's OK, but if you begin to lose core capabilities, or you start giving away the roots of your sustained innovation capability, then you're actually breeding your own competition."
