Warwick excels in major European quality test

Warwick Business School announced today that it had won accreditation from Equis, the European Foundation for Management Development's quality inspectorate.

This new seal of approval means that Warwick is the first UK business school to hold triple accreditation for its programmes from Equis, the Association of MBAs and the US-based AACSB - the International Association for Management Education.

The school's Dean, Professor Robert Dyson, commented: "Approval from Equis is a great credit to everyone in the school. The accreditation was granted only after a thorough investigation of all aspects of the school's teaching, research and administration by an independent panel of European experts."

A report from Equis praises the range and quality of Warwick's programmes, its academic research and the strong link between teaching and research. The report states that:

"The school's range of R&D expertise is impressive, including several distinct research centres. WBS enjoys an enviable national and international reputation. The quality of research is apparent from the great number of articles published in leading journals and well-received books or chapters in books.

"Moreover, research has a direct impact on the quality of teaching, programme relevance to the corporate world and faculty development."

It also points to the excellence of Warwick's "extremely talented and diverse" lecturing and research staff and to the "enviable sense of the school's overall purpose and future direction."
