New research reveals Rover 75 production lead times are best in Europe
The view of Rover as BMW's ailing 'English patient' ignores enormous achievements within the company, including the productivity success of the Rover 75, according to a report from a Warwick Business School researcher.
Researcher Joy Batchelor worked closely with staff in Rover and BMW in the five years leading up to the Rover 75's launch in June 1999 and observed the development of a build-to-order capability for the 75 which created the shortest possible time for customer order lead-time (10 working days) in Western Europe.
