Warwick congratulates 2,000th distance learning MBA graduate
Since starting the MBA, Valerie has been made a director and has become one of her company's highest fee earners. She explains, "I probably now have one of the most fascinating jobs in the world. I get to travel, meet a lot of really interesting people and see an awful lot of things that other people to not get to see…and I get well paid for doing it."
Valerie, who moved out to Germany in 1985 with her husband and two young daughters, quickly became fluent in German and set up her own business teaching and translating. Since the early 1990s she has worked for a consultancy specialising in mergers & acquisitions and it was her boss who suggested she take an MBA.
"Taking the Warwick MBA counts as one of the better decisions I ever made," says Valerie.
Dean of Warwick Business School, Professor Howard Thomas said, "I am delighted to congratulate Valerie on receiving her Warwick MBA. She is the two thousandth in a long line of talented and dedicated people who study through distance learning and make it to the winning post."
Now that her younger daughter has left school, Valerie is looking at one or two opportunities, which she might never have been offered without the MBA.
