Professor Benington appointed Director of Institute of Governance and Public Management

The Institute of Governance and Public Management (IGPM) is an initiative fostered by Warwick Business School with active involvement from all main departments and research centres across the faculty of Social Studies at the University of Warwick. The IGPM will bring together senior policy-makers and public managers from all levels of government and across the range of public services with leading academic staff. Their aim is to generate knowledge, ideas, evidence, evaluation and learning in order to contribute to the understanding of governance and the improvement of public services.

Prof. John Benington, who currently heads the Warwick Business School Local Government Centre, takes up directorship of the IGPM from 1 October 2001.
