Top Business School Student Awarded Marketing Prize

Tracy Curtis, aged 22, from Paddock Wood, Kent has been awarded the Sandom Challenge prize for the leading undergraduate student taking marketing courses at Warwick Business School.

Course tutor, Dr Lyndon Simkin presented Tracy with a bottle of champagne and a cheque for £250 on the day she graduated with her degree, BSc in International Business from Warwick Business School.

Dr Simkin said, "It is very unusual for one of our final year students to take all of our specialist marketing courses - Consumer Behaviour, Marketing Communications, Marketing Strategy, and International Marketing. Not only has Tracy completed all these, but she came first or second in all four - a truly outstanding performance. And in addition, I hear she is a very good tap dancer!"

The Sandom Challenge is awarded by the Sandom Group, based in Windsor. Their CEO, John Wringe, regularly returns to the Coventry area to deliver lectures to students at Warwick Business School.

Tracy, who is keen to enter the world of strategic marketing and consultancy, is taking her first job in management with Marks & Spencer on their highly-regarded fast track management trainee scheme in the Autumn.

Tracy said, “Receiving this award means a great deal to me and confirms my career direction in marketing. I have enjoyed studying at Warwick over the past four years and believe that my hard work has been rewarded, which would not have been possible without the efforts of WBS academic staff. I now look forward to beginning my working life with very fond memories of university and a strong academic background."
