Undergraduate Student Wins Finance Award
The Associate of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) has announced the winner of its prestigious student award for outstanding work in finance.
The award was won by Roubie Singaravelu-Naidu, an undergraduate studying at Warwick Business School. Stuart Rudkin, a member of the Association, and Treasury Analyst at Consignia plc, presented a cheque to Roubie on Friday 4th October, in front of around 300 fellow students attending their first lecture of the term in Principles of Finance.
After a brief talk highlighting the importance of the finance and treasury function in today's marketplace, and the pivotal role of the ACT, Stuart said:
"Roubie's coursework was outstanding and she richly deserves this prize."
He told the audience of students that a similar prize would be awarded by the ACT to any student at the end of their course whose work was judged to be of exceptional standard.
Roubie, from Mauritius, is hoping to continue her studies by doing a Masters degree in Finance. She said:
"I am very grateful to the ACT for this generous prize, and appreciate the boost it will give to my job prospects, as well as the boost right now to my finances."
