Crown Castle awards MBA students

Full-time MBA students at Warwick Business School (WBS) will be well-rewarded for their efforts by winning prizes totalling £5,000 from Crown Castle International, the UK's leading network infrastructure management company.

The Crown Castle Prize for Innovation was awarded to Warwick MBA students whose performance was judged in a Marketing Strategy simulation. The competitors had to design and launch the next generation of mobile personal data processing and communications devices.

The winning group produced a documentary Rags to Riches film and the runners-up took a military theme for their product launch.

Presenting a cheque for £2,500 and a trophy to the winning group of students were Peter Abery, President and Managing Director, and John Ward, Director, Network Operations & Engineering, both based at Crown Castle's offices in Warwick. John Ward is on the Advisory Board of WBS. The runner-up group received a cheque for £1,000.

A further £1,500 will be awarded in the form of two individual prizes later this year, for innovation in strategy demonstrated in both coursework and in a consultancy project.

Peter Abery of Crown Castle said, "Crown Castle is a strong supporter of Warwick Business School. Like them, we applaud thought leadership and new ideas, both of which have been well demonstrated by all the MBA students involved in this project."

Howard Thomas, Dean of WBS, said, "We are very grateful to Crown Castle for their generosity and support for our MBA students. Crown Castle has an international reputation for business innovation so we attach great value to its sponsorship of this prize, and look forward to a long and positive relationship."

The winning group of six illustrate the multi-national nature of MBA students at WBS:
