Accreditation and Re-accreditation Success for Warwick Business School
Following a recent inspection visit to Warwick Business School (WBS) at the University of Warwick, the Association of MBAs has re-accredited the Warwick MBA programme for the maximum five year period for meeting the high quality standards required by the Association, and accredited the Warwick MPA (Master in Public Administration) for the first time. The Warwick MPA was launched in 2000, so has only just become eligible for accreditation.
During their visit, the AMBA Assessors looked into all aspects of MBA and MPA teaching, from curriculum development to management of programmes. Their feedback was positive, with WBS described as "an impressive School". In particular the report commended
the strong sense of the coherence of the Warwick MBA, the flexibility of study offered to students, and the vision of WBS as a full-line European provider
the quality of administrative support operations management - described as "exceptionally good"
the excellent Faculty, in particular in its conduct of high quality and relevant research that fed into research-led teaching.
In 2000, WBS became the first UK business school to hold triple accreditation from the world's major management education associations: the European Foundation for Management Development's EQUIS system, the US-based AACSB - the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, and the Association of MBAs.
Professor Howard Thomas, Dean of WBS says:
"We have always valued the Association of MBAs as a standards-based system, and are delighted that our MBA and MPA are fully accredited as excellent programmes. AACSB and EQUIS - being mission-based - help us to evaluate our activities from international perspectives. The status of these quality kite marks varies throughout the world, which makes multiple accreditation important for WBS as a leading European business school operating in an international field."
