Trio of Honours for Howard Thomas

Professor Howard Thomas, Dean of Warwick Business School has earned significant respect throughout his career for furthering the reputation of UK business education and for his contributions to strategic management.

These contributions are being recognised by his peers this year as he is honoured with three separate awards.

He has been elected Chair of the Global Foundation for Management Education, a joint initiative of the European Foundation for Management Education (EFMD) and the US-based Association for Advanced Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), for the year 2007/8.

He was also named as Honorary Life Member of EFMD at the annual conference in Brussels in June 2007. He is one of only ten people so honoured by EFMD.

On 28th of June he will be awarded a DSc degree by Edinburgh University for significant contributions to the field of strategy.

Professor Eric Cornuel, the Director General & CEO of EFMD said, "We are honoured to award life time membership of EFMD to Prof. Howard Thomas, who for the last 15 years has contributed greatly to the EFMD international network and who has served EFMD with great distinction as the Vice-President for the last two. Howard is a leading figure in the management development community who has a first-hand global perspective on management education and his international experience and knowledge has been a great benefit to EFMD."

When asked to comment on this trio of honours, Professor Thomas was characteristically understated. "British management education is amongst the highest quality in the world and I am fortunate to be able to be an advocate for it on the global stage."
