Warwick MBA student essay short-listed for European prize
Gladys Diffey, current participant on the Warwick MBA by distance learning, has achieved short-listing in a Europe-wide essay competition for MBA students. The annual European MBA essay competition is run by UK business school Ashridge, in partnership with the European Academy of Business in Society (EABIS), of which WBS is a Founding Member, and with the support of EABIS' Founding Partner, Microsoft.
This year the award encouraged MBA candidates to specifically reflect on the dilemmas, challenges and opportunities faced by companies during the transition to a 'knowledge economy', reflecting a key pillar of the European Union's Jobs and Growth Strategy, and the increasing attention business is paying to corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Only five entrants were short-listed for prizes, with the first two winning 8,000 Euros between them. The awards were announced at the EABIS 6th Annual Colloquium, held last month in Barcelona. All five essays will be brought together in a single publication.
Gladys has kindly given permission for her essay, CSR, A risky business - Risk Management and CSR to be published as a PDF on the WBS web site.
