New Masters in Business Analytics & Consulting launches at Warwick Business School
Warwick Business School is to launch a new Masters degree, MSc in Business Analytics & Consulting (MSBAC), with the first intake due to start in October 2008. This 12-month full-time degree brings to ten the number of specialist masters on offer at WBS, which together with its non-specialist Masters in Management, is aimed at new and recently-graduated students. The new MSc will initially aim for an intake of 20.
MSBAC will run as a sister programme to the existing MSc in Management Science and Operational Research (MSOR), which has a strong reputation in the OR community. MSOR will continue as a natural and appealing conversion route for those from a maths/science background. The two programmes will share some modules.
The new degree has been designed by the Operational Research & Management Sciences group at WBS. They are experienced consultants and action researchers in the areas of strategy support, systems analysis, and business decision making.
Associate Dean for Specialist Masters Professor Stewart Robinson, explained why they had decided to launch this degree, "The Masters in Business Analytics & Consulting will offer a high quality management qualification to improve graduate employability within the area of analytic consulting in particular. It will appeal to graduates from a wide variety of backgrounds, but with strong analytical skills, such as business, economics, psychology, computing and engineering. Additionally, it will be taught by faculty from across WBS to give a broad base of knowledge, and much of the teaching will be delivered by industry experts in the form of real life case studies."
