Engineering Employers Federation award prize for WBS Masters student
The Midlands region of the EEF recently presented their annual prize for Outstanding Attainment in Employment Relations to Jennifer Green, in recognition of her achievements on the MA in European Industrial Relations (now MA in International and European Industrial Relations) at Warwick Business School from which she graduates this year.Jennifer graduated with Distinction overall and submitted a particularly ambitious dissertation project. Her research, on the presentation of strike activity in the British and German press, integrated perspectives from the fields of employment relations and media analysis and required comparative fieldwork in the two countries.
Jennifer commented, "I am delighted to have received the EEF prize. For my dissertation I was fortunate enough to be able to do some of my research at the University of Bremen in Germany, which was a challenging but extremely rewarding part of the MA course. I feel that the whole master's experience has opened up numerous opportunities to work or perhaps continue to research in employment relations."
Andrew Forrest, HR and Legal Leader for the EEF Midlands, awarded the prize to Jennifer at WBS before presenting a seminar on the reform of employment disputes in Britain. Andrew was involved in the recent review of employment tribunal procedures led by Sir Michael Gibbons and offered his perspectives on the key legal changes due to come into effect in April 2009.
