Pedal Powered Smoothies
A group of post graduate students from Warwick Business School have been working with Brandon Marsh Nature Centre to help them to raise awareness of what the facility has to offer to schools, families and local business.
The team of MBA students, Phillip Encarnação, Shanjoy Mairembam, Akshay Maheshwari, Kasmira Smarzo and Sarah Zareian has developed a new range of smoothies with ingredients supplied by Sainsburys which will be made using only pedal powered machinery to complement the opening of the new dining facility at Brandon Marsh in 2008 and also the start of GoGreen Week at Warwick University on Monday.
As part of their course, students are required to carry out tasks which require them to demonstrate real management skills and many WBS students have put their experience to good use by assisting organisations in the city.
"We wanted to help build awareness of the first class work and facilities at Brandon Marsh," said Kasmira Smarzo from New York State, "We also saw it as an opportunity to encourage other business students to get involved. Most of us at WBS have already gained a considerable amount of management experience before embarking on the MBA and working with local organisations is a great way of keeping us on our toes."
Go Green begins at 10:00 Monday 23 February and is the largest student run environmental event in the UK
