One hundred per cent graduation success

The first cohort of the Warwick Diploma in Service Leadership, taught in Singapore by WBS faculty at the prestigious Singapore Institute of Management, has recently graduated, with a record 100 per cent success rate.

This course is run through a unique partnership between WBS, the Singapore Workforce Development Agency, and the Singapore Institute of Management.

Six four-day workshops are matched with assignments and a business project. Learning and working through the 15 months of the programme embeds key service leadership and general management principles into the employing organisation. Each delegate completes a final project which delivers valuable service improvements to their business. The topic of this project is determined by three-way reviews involving the learner, their manager, and their WBS tutor.

The Singapore Workforce Development Agency is currently offering sponsored places worth up to 90 percent of the course fees, with the balance met by the employers of the delegates.

The first cohort of 22 delegates celebrated their graduation at Singapore Institute of Management. Employment sectors represented by the cohort included health, airlines, security, catering, education, retail and telecommunications.

Professor Bob Johnston, Academic Director of the Service Leadership Diploma, said, "It gave me great pleasure to be able to present the Diplomas at this graduation ceremony. We celebrate not only the achievements of the individuals, but also the highly successful partnership with SIM and WDA, in support of the Singapore Government's objective to equip managers with the necessary skills to significantly improve the quality of service delivered in Singapore."
