WBS signs UN-backed Principles for Responsible Management Education
Warwick Business School has signed the UN-backed Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME). The PRME embody a voluntary set of principles to which business schools can adhere in the interest of providing future leaders with the necessary insights and skills to reflect upon, critically analyze, and provide leadership with regard to corporate responsibility. The PRME are neither a seal of approval nor a compliance-based standard, but a framework for continuous improvement. To date 302 business schools from around the world have signed up, demonstrating their commitment to integrate social and environmental issues into the curriculum. WBS's commitment to PRME reflects its strong interest in strengthening and deepening existing teaching and research activities related to social and environmental issues.
As a direct initiative, WBS has established a Corporate Responsibility Working Group (CRWG) bringing together academics, students and administrative staff. The Group is led by Assistant Professor of Business and Society Andreas Rasche, of the Governance & Public Management Group.
Andreas commented, "Our Corporate Responsibility Working Group is a natural evolution of the sterling work which started at WBS way back in 1996 with the launch of its Corporate Citizenship Unit. We steer the PRME implementation process, and act as a School-wide forum to discuss and further develop teaching and research activities related to corporate responsibility at WBS."
