WBS Masters in Management rated in top 10
The MSc in Management programme at Warwick Business School has been rated 2nd in Marketing, 3rd in Finance, and 6th in general management in its first participation in the Financial Times ranking of Masters in Management programmes. The programme was ranked 7th in the UK and 48th globally in the Financial Times ranking of Masters in Management programmes.
The FT has been producing this annual ranking for the past seven years, but WBS only became eligible to participate once its first graduating class had been in the workplace for three years.
Students who graduated in 2008 were asked to partake in an online survey by the FT, for which their responses contributed to 55% of the overall ranking score; the remaining 45% was gathered from information provided by the participating schools.
Professor Mark Taylor, Dean of Warwick Business School, commented, "WBS is committed to excellence in our programmes as part of our mission to produce world-class business leaders and provide a strong return on investment to our students. While the FT survey is retrospective and improvements that we are making now will take several years to be reflected in the rankings, this is a creditable first showing for the WBS Master's in Management and provides a basis on which we can build."
MSc in Management Academic Director Dr Nikala Lane added, "I am very pleased that our MSc Management has been ranked by the Financial Times as the number seven programme in the UK and in the Top 50 globally. This was our first entry in the ranking and we were up against competitors with larger and longer established programmes. As our programme becomes more established we are optimistic about rising yet higher in this ranking. The first result is to the credit of the staff who support and teach this programme."
