WBS rises in FT Rankings
The FT has ranked Warwick Business School at 34th globally in its Top 100 Executive MBA rankings, up one place on the 2010 position. The rankings retain WBS in 5th position in the UK and 10th in Europe (for single school submissions).
The rankings track performance against sixteen key areas which can be broadly split into four categories: salary and work; staff and student composition; the international dimension; and the quality of faculty.
WBS's stated mission is to provide a lifelong return on investment and in this respect it is especially pleasing to note that the student cohort has achieved a 77% increase in average salary and their career progress is ranked at 11th in the world. Moreover WBS ranks 8th in the world in terms of 'aims achieved' by students on the programme; this is an improvement of 36 places when compared with the 2010 rankings and reflects strongly on how the programme is helping students to achieve their career goals.
For the eighth year in succession the 'international faculty staff composition' figure has risen and now stands at 60%. It is entirely appropriate that this be recognised in the FT rankings, as Warwick Business School is a global and cosmopolitan School and is very pleased to be so clearly recognised as such. The 'faculty with doctorates' criterion stood at 85% in 2003 and is now 97%. WBS will continue to invest in attracting talent from outside and nurturing its own talent, including those on its growing PhD programme. There have been further rises registered in both the School's research ranking and the doctoral rank; from 52nd to 44th and from 15th to 7th respectively.
Professor Mark Taylor, Dean of Warwick Business School, commented that these rankings were a 'very positive and pleasing reflection of the hard work by all involved at the School and the evident quality of the programme. These results are evidence that WBS continues to equip managers with the skills, knowledge and personal qualities that allow them to reach their potential in the workplace. In the last few years, we've invested significantly in expanding the careers services available to our Executive MBA students and alumni. It's great news to see that this investment is having an impact on the success of our graduates.'
