WBS a major contributor to Warwick's inaugural International Summer School
The University of Warwick is launching its first International Summer School on campus. It will run from 1- 21 July 2012, with WBS teaching one of the two accredited courses.
The International Summer School is an exciting opportunity for international undergraduates, currently studying overseas, to enter into an intensive programme of rigorous academic study combined with a full social programme, which will enable them to live the Warwick experience in miniature. There will also be ample opportunity to enjoy the best of British culture and heritage as the country prepares to host the London 2012 Olympic Games.
There will be two accredited courses available:
- Creative Writing Across Genres, hosted by the Institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning (IATL)
- Global Integrative Business Project, delivered by WBS.
Applicants will need to demonstrate a strong academic background and if English is not their language of tuition, an IELTS score of 6.5 or above.
The social programme will include day trips to London, Oxford and a theatre trip to see 'Twelfth Night' performed by the renowned Royal Shakespeare Company at Shakespeare's birthplace Stratford-upon-Avon.
Grier Palmer, Assistant Dean, Teaching and Learning and Principal Teaching Fellow, explains, "WBS is offering an intensive three week course exploring Global Integrative Business; this is an innovative course welcomed by both employers and universities alike. The International Summer School will create multinational teams, increasing awareness and sensitivity across borders. Not only does this event seek to enhance career skills and research skills, it also seeks to develop personal and interpersonal skills in a multi-disciplinary setting."
