WBS MBA team wins place in global $1million poverty challenge

The US-based Hult International Business School is running its third Annual Hult Global Case Challenge (Hult GCC), an initiative that brings together top students from around the world to generate solutions to the world's most pressing social challenges. A team from the Warwick MBA by Full-time Study has been selected to go through to the regional finals, from a total of 4,000 applications received.

The 2012 Hult Global Case Challenge focuses on breaking the cycle of global poverty through developing sustainable solutions that will provide affordable housing, affordable energy, and affordable education to the bottom of the pyramid. The sponsors of the Challenge will make available US$1million in seed capital to provide funding to pilot the very best ideas.

The Hult GCC regional competitions will take place on 24-25 February on Hult International Business School's five campuses - in Boston, San Francisco, London, Dubai and Shanghai. The WBS team will compete in London.

The winners from the five regions will be flown to New York City for the Finals on 26 April, concluding with an award ceremony at one of New York City's most prestigious landmarks, the New York Public Library. Every finalist will receive the opportunity to meet and have photos taken with former USA President Bill Clinton, who will serve as the keynote speaker and present the winning team with the award.

The Warwick multinational team members are:
Ankit Mehta and Pratibha Dewett, both from India, Patrick Mususa from Tanzania, Wendy Okada Nishikawa from Peru, and Zohair Ali from Pakistan.

We wish them all the best!
