Economic Modelling & Forecasting

The Economic Modelling & Forecasting Group undertakes business and policy relevant research into the theory and practice of economic modelling and forecasting.

Much of our research seeks to help make economic models, data and forecasts more useful to decision-makers, and we are experienced at tailoring our research to meet the needs of decision makers in both the public and private sectors.

Our group contributes to the academic and public debate in a number of research areas:

  • Probability and density forecasting
  • Applied macroeconomics
  • Monetary and fiscal policy
  • The measurement and use of economic data (real-time, mixed frequency, qualitative and quantitative)
  • Decision making under uncertainty
  • Regional, national and global economic modelling and forecasting
  • Global energy
  • Time series, macro-econometrics and panel data econometrics
