Into academia?

The WBS Doctoral Programme has been an invaluable experience. It
helped launch my career as an academic and writer. My thesis
supervisor, Roger Fawthrop was instrumental in honing my academic
research and writing skills. The Warwick experience has also helped
open doors for me in the field of consulting. Being able to list
the Warwick PhD on my CV was instrumental in landing USAID contracts
to reform the accounting systems of Armenia and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
In Armenia I was in charge of assisting the Finance Ministry convert
the country to International Accounting Standard and helped all the
major universities in Armenia and Bosnia & Herzegovina to upgrade
their accounting curriculum to meet international standards. I have
also assisted the governments of Ukraine, Turkey and Mozambique
with accounting and economic reform and been invited to present papers
throughout the former Soviet Union, Central and Eastern Europe,
Asia and Latin America. My PhD from WBS helped to open all those doors.
I am currently on the accounting faculty of Barry University
in Miami, USA and am also on the summer faculties of the
Copenhagen Business School in Denmark and Thammasat University
in Thailand. I recently published my fiftieth book and have
published over 350 scholarly papers in several disciplines. I'm proud
that at the time of writing Social Science Research Network ranks
me number 25 in the world for downloads from its website
over the past 12 months and number 36 all time, out of more
than 66,000 academics, added to which a study published
in the Journal of Business Ethics (2002) ranks me
number one in the world for business ethics scholarship.
