Welcome
Professor Mark Salmon, Finance group
To succeed in finance, you must have a strong theoretical and conceptual knowledge of economics and quantitative methods, as well as finance.
Our Finance faculty is one of Europe's leading centres of excellence, and contains several internationally recognised research centres.
We cover all areas of finance at the highest level, in the Warwick Finance Research Institute (WFRI), and this feeds into our courses, and your career.
We have designed all three of our finance courses in conjunction with practitioners.
This means you will leave us with with the complete skill set and knowledge base you need to excel in the financial sector or continue with research.
Our course will give you the foundations to enable you to understand the critical issues and methods of analysis required to work in, or research, financial markets.
It differs from our more technical finance courses because you will leave us with a wide understanding of both finance theory and how markets work, and thus be very employable.
Our graduates are widely sought after by major investment banks and central banks alike and the reputation of WBS finance graduates is recognised around the world.
Mark is Director of the Financial Econometrics Research Centre. He was formerly Deutsche Morgan Grenfell Professor of Financial Markets at Cass Business School, London. He was an advisor to the Bank of England from 2000-2005 and has many links with City institutions.
