The university organises annual careers fairs, attended by companies such as Accenture, Bain & Co, Deloitte, Rolls Royce, Procter & Gamble, Sainsburys, Capgemini and KPMG. In addition, individual employer presentations are run weekly throughout terms one and two, and sector events run over several weeks, covering sectors including HR, consulting and the public sector.
- Careers support
You will have access to the careers services provided by the central Student Careers and Skills team, as well as to the specialist careers service offered by the WBS PCD team. We offer a comprehensive pre-arrival and alumni careers service, meaning that you have access to careers advice and information before you arrive, and after you leave, in addition to during your time with us.
All MA IR & MHR students receive a one-day, sector-specific Career Essentials workshop at the start of their time at WBS. This covers essential topics such as CVs and application forms, looking for jobs, networking, interviews and assessment centres. Additional workshops covering subjects including presentation skills, CVs and cover letters and assessment centres are also provided throughout the year. All MA IR & MHR students have access to as many one-to-one career guidance appointments as they need, as well as individual interview coaching and tailored mock interviews.
Students have access to the university's graduate job site, MyAdvantage, which lists thousands of graduate job, placement and internship opportunities throughout the year, as well as a range of other useful online resources.
