Significant costs for participants on the Warwick MBA by full-time study
Your tuition fee is not the only significant expense you will need to plan and budget for. Based on figures from past classes, full-time participants can expect their average monthly costs to be around £880. Allowing for additional annual expenses of travel and text books, you can expect your annual living costs to be around £12,435.

Accommodation & food
Our participants spend an average of £460 per month on accommodation and £170 per month on food.
Think carefully when selecting campus accommodation; your summer project may not be based near the University. If you commit to a 50-week let (eg Lakeside or Heronbank), then you will need to pay rent over the summer, even if you decide not to use the accommodation. Most participants usually manage to re-let their accommodation for this period, but please be aware that this will be your responsibility to do so. If you are reluctant to commit to this, then there are many other options available, including 39-week lets on campus, or alternative off-campus accommodation.
Travel
On average, our participants spend around £1,500 per annum on travel throughout the year. This amount will vary enormously depending on your circumstances and might include:
- journeys to and from WBS at the start and end of the programme
- for any international modules you choose
- to and from your project base
- social trips taken around the UK whilst here
Please note that if you plan to use a car in the UK, this will add considerably to your expenses. There are lots of cheap alternative ways to travel around the UK, including by coach or rail.
Exchanges
If you are chosen to go on an exchange programme, you will have to cover the costs of your travel and additional accommodation and living expenses whilst at the other business school. Whilst you do not need to pay additional tuition fees, if your exchange takes place at the end of your normal 12 month programme, then you are also likely to have to pay a £750 fee to Warwick to cover the extension of your student registration.
Text books
On average, our participants spend £375 on books for their core modules. This expenditure is mainly in the first term and can vary a great deal, from £150 to £800. It is worth exploring options to buy second-hand books from previous participants or via the internet, or borrowing those less essential books from the library. Text books are provided for elective modules which take place in the Summer term.
Other expenses
You may want to budget a further £250 per month for a range of other expenses. These include laundry, mobile phone, printing / IT requirements and social activities. These will vary depending on whether you plan to live on or off campus, whether you have a family with you, and your general lifestyle.
