Corporate Governance
The basic objective of this module is for you to understand the theory and practice of corporate governance and its role in the strategic management of the modern corporation. You will focus on developing an understanding of what is good corporate governance, and what the impact is of regulations and codes of practice.
You will gain a strong and robust skill set for understanding what is needed in today's business environment, and what can be done to ensure better corporate reporting and better behaviour for the benefit of shareholders and other stakeholders.

- Apply theories and frameworks relating to corporate governance to various corporate governance structures
- Understand the role of the Board of Directors in shaping the strategy of a company and protecting the interests of stakeholders
- Understand the relationship between the management of a company and the objectives of the relevant stakeholders
- Identify the key factors in the development of corporate governance regulations and codes
- Appreciate the difficulties facing companies required to apply their national corporate governance regulations in foreign subsidiaries and joint ventures
- Appreciate the growing importance of corporate responsibility and how it relates to corporate strategy.
