Flexibility
We have designed our study programme to be completely flexible so you can take it at your own pace, planning for, and adapting to, your own circumstances. You can tailor our programme to your needs finding the best route for you through to graduation. Read Marwa Bouka's story.
Flexibility explained
- Kick start your MBA
-
Join us full-time from September-December, to complete five of your seven core modules. This is an ideal way to fast-track your study if your employer can release you for a three-month 'sabbatical' career break.
You will also learn another language at the University's language centre, and sample our practical module The Practice of Management, which addresses the soft skills of management, including interpersonal communications, teamwork, and leadership.
At the end of three-months' intensive study, you can return to work, and complete your Warwick MBA by one of our part-time routes: Executive or distance learning.
- Increase or decrease the time it takes to complete your studies
-
We recommend three years to complete the study programme on a part-time basis. But you can often speed up your studies through careful planning and selection of elective modules, and an early start to your project.
If you need longer, University regulations give part-time participants up to five years to complete their studies. While people rarely plan to take this length of time, we would much rather support you to ensure you complete your studies rather than see you leave the programme prematurely. So, if you find that you need to take things at a slower pace and spread your modules out over a longer period of time, we can accommodate you.
- Mix modes of study
-
Some people complete the entire course by the study mode they started. Others switch to a different study mode for some, or all, elective modules. For example, you could:
- Executive study splits the teaching into week-long residential modules. You could study your core modules like this, but later choose online or distance learning electives if the module dates don't suit you.
- Do your core modules by distance learning. Take some Executive electives as week-long modules on campus.
- Take your core modules by distance learning or Executive study. Complete your electives faster as a full-time participants spending the summer term at WBS.
- Join us as a full time student for the September - December term for five core modules. Complete the remainder of your core and your elective modules through distance learning and/or modular study.
- Take a complete break from your studies
-
Very few of us claim to be able to predict the future, so the Warwick MBA comes with built-in insurance.
If you need to take a break from your studies for any reason; a promotion, new baby, relocation, or just simply pressure of work, then you can do so.
Far better to take a break and return refreshed, than get disheartened and drop out. All we ask is that you keep us informed about your plans.
Making time for study, work, family, and friends is not easy, but life is for living.
People like you want to fit a lot in, and we want your studies with us to be an enjoyable time of your life.
Most MBA programmes lock you into a study programme for the duration.
The Warwick MBA is different.
