Course structure
You need to attend and take part in seven 3-day core modules, and then choose two elective modules from a list of options. You will complete a 3,000 word essay after each of these 9 modules, and in addition write a 15,000 word dissertation.
Each of the 3-day taught modules is self-contained, and the order in which they are undertaken depends on which elective modules are selected. The dissertation is undertaken towards the end of the 3 years.
What are the modules like?
Each module runs from Wednesday to Friday with a 9am start on the Wednesday and a 4pm finish on the Friday. Each module is themed and uses a mixture of teaching styles which includes academic input, case studies and expert practitioner input. All teaching is interactive and participative - we recognise that the participants on this programme have a wealth of experience to contribute to the learning community. The modules are delivered in our purpose built teaching facilities with the residential accommodation on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis located nearby in Warwick's high class conference facilities.
How is the learning supported?
Four weeks before each module you will receive a study pack which gives full details for the programme for the module and provides supporting readings. Some of these must be read before attending the module, the remaining readings will support the completion of the assessment. You will be given full access to Warwick's extensive electronic resources and our student support online community, my.wbs. Following each module you will have 6 weeks to complete the 3,000 word assessment. Full study guides are provided and each module includes a session on preparing for the assessment. Individual academic supervision is allocated for the work-based dissertation. Additional support is available on request.
How much study time is involved?
Additional average study time required outside of the classroom is in the region of 20 hours per month.
The MPLM programme offers great flexibility to meet your particular needs, taken part-time over 3 years.
The course commences in September each year.
