Requirements
Competition for the 150 places on our BSc in Accounting & Finance is strong. All applications are considered individually. A range of A level or equivalent subjects is preferred, including mathematics and a humanities or social science subject. You should also show some evidence of subject continuity, eg. taking one or more subjects forward from Year 11 to A level or equivalent study. Our typical minimum academic entry requirements are below.
Academic qualifications
You must have seven GCSEs minimum: A in Mathematics, B in English, plus at least five other A or B grades, plus one of the qualifications below.
- A/AS level
- AAA at A level plus B in a fourth subject at AS level, or A*AA at A level. At least A at A level in Maths or Further Maths (maths-related subjects such as Statistics, Economics or Accounting and Finance do not meet this requirement). 21 units of study, with at least 9 units studied in Year 13, 6 at A level. General Studies are normally excluded from offers.
- Access course
- Access to HE Diploma (QAA-recognised) including appropriate subjects with distinction grades in level 3 units. Candidates must meet essential subject requirements.
- Scottish certificate
- Advanced Higher AA plus at least Higher ABB in three other subjects.
- Irish Leaving Certificate
- AAABBB
- Welsh Baccalaureate
- Core pass, plus a further 18 units of advanced study reaching the A/AS requirement above
- International Baccalaureate
- 38 points, with no less than 5 in HL. Must include HL mathematics
