Networking opportunities
The WBS Alumni Association is committed to helping you extend and maintain your network of business contacts, keeping you up to date with cutting edge academic research, real case studies and of course, keeping you in touch with WBS.
We aim to foster a lifelong community of professionals not only to support WBS but also to enrich our own lives.
When you graduate you will automatically receive free membership of the WBS Alumni Association and you will remain a valued member of our community, regardless of distance or passage of time. It includes not only graduates from the Undergraduate Programme but from our full range of degrees. Many of our services and opportunities are also available to you as a student. You may even use the WBS Alumni Association before you get to WBS, as our alumni offer support and advice to students preparing to study here.
As an active association, it is about much more than a group of people who have passed through the doors of WBS. They all share a pride in WBS and value this experience. Currently, we have an active community of 29,000 graduates living in 132 countries across the world. Our alumni are ambassadors for us in many ways: as WBS group coordinators, mentors to students and professionals, WBS project sponsors, guest speakers and hosts at our events, and as part of the WBS and Alumni Boards - they shape the future of WBS.
Networking
One of the most effective tools available to you is networking with current and former students, many of whom will be working in senior positions throughout the world. We offer a range of networking opportunities to interact with WBS staff, students and graduates, senior professionals, and academic faculty. Here at WBS, we run various business, professional development, and academic seminars; these include our prestigious biannual Academic Updates, which provide a unique opportunity to return to campus to hear the latest thinking from top WBS academics. There are active WBS alumni groups throughout the UK and the rest of the world hosting group seminars and social events in Canada, Greece, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, USA, and the list is expanding rapidly.
We also have Special Interest Groups which bring together students, graduates, and our faculty to explore industry practice and the latest research in specific industry areas including:
- Entrepreneurship
- Finance
- Information & Systems Management
- The Public & Voluntary Sector
- Telecoms.
Social events and keeping in touch
The WBS Annual Dinner is a London-based black tie event celebrating the achievements of WBS over the past year and looking forward to further successes. We also host events for both Summer and Winter graduation to celebrate in style with graduates, family, and friends. The annual Summer Ball is the culmination of these events.
Nexus, our alumni magazine, is published twice a year, fusing leading research from practitioners with articles from top WBS academics and alumni from around the globe and across business sectors. Our monthly eNewsletter brings updates on our activities straight into your inbox and we have dedicated WBS groups within LinkedIn and Facebook. We also have our own Online Membership Directory allowing you to login and search for and network with other WBS alumni worldwide.
