A modern and forward thinking course with great employment prospects
I wanted to study a modern and forward thinking course that would strategically position me in a lucrative and leading employment sector after graduation.
I felt a grounding in business and the workings of industry would allow me to be confident in my abilities and to be in the situation that companies wanted me as opposed to me trying to convince them they need me.
I'd put quite a bit of effort into researching all the prospective universities and suitable courses, and found that no other university could offer not only outstanding teaching quality and research achievements but also such thoroughly modern and comfortable surroundings as Warwick.
The BSc in Computer & Management Science had a unique ability to offer a technological grounding in the computer science department at Warwick working with extremely powerful equipment and teaching staff whose knowledge in the field is seemingly limitless.
Add to that being able to benefit from the modern surrounds of WBS with their fresh approach to teaching, and lectures and seminars that are consistently forward thinking and insightful.
It was like the best of both worlds with picturesque and tasteful campus surroundings to accompany them.
The tone of the staff, research fellows, and other students was always up-beat and driven, like they knew they were the future of business and had a passion for direction they were headed.
Being around students with such varied backgrounds and masses of experience on a daily basis was truly invigorating.
The feeling that you're amongst people who will be controlling major industry in the very near future, and they're confident in their abilities, was amazing.
I've had the chance to explore fascinating multicultural and diverse opinions influenced by experiences of life in other countries across the world.
Being immersed in such vibrant and energetic surroundings of the campus; you can't help but make the most of your stay here.
The teaching style at Warwick is relaxed yet driven, contemporary yet reflective and my attention was held from start to finish by teaching staff whose passion for their subject, which comes over in their presentation of issues, is truly infectious.
Coupled with a strong grounding in many fundamental business tools such as marketing, finance and development and covering current day and future business and economic issues, I'll effectively be hitting the ground running.
And I've graduated with skills that are 'cutting edge' now, not just three years ago when I started.
I definitely would, and do, recommend WBS to anyone.
With so many different aspects to the course and studying, I challenge anyone not to find something that they're passionate about all within one leafy campus.
I'll never forget the feeling as I sat in my first lecture in the Ramphal building amongst a sea of unsure yet eager faces, knowing that I'd made it and the next three years are going to be whatever I make them.
