Dr Arne K. Strauss is Associate Professor of Operational Research in the Operations Group at Warwick Business School and Turing Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Science from Lancaster University, a Master's degree in mathematics from Virginia Tech, USA, and a diploma (equivalent to Master degree) in mathematics and business administration from the University of Trier, Germany.

His main research area is demand management and revenue optimisation involving models of customer choice; an interest that he pursues with various projects, including industrial collaborations. He won several prizes for his doctoral dissertation including the doctoral prize of the Operational Research Society for the best PhD dissertation 2009, and he was awarded the OR Society's Goodeve medal for the best paper published in the Journal of the Operational Research Society in 2012. He is a recipient of an IBM Faculty Award in 2015 worth $20k, jointly with two colleagues from Q-Step and Computer Science at Warwick. He led the OR team at Warwick on the Horizon 2020 project COCTA that won Jane's Innovation Award 2019, a prestigious international prize recognising achievements that enhance the performance of air traffic management.

He is the Academic Director of WBS' MSc Business Analytics programme and a member of the Analytics Curriculum Advisory Group of the accreditation body AACSB.
