About you

You must be intellectually outstanding and display strong interpersonal and communication skills, motivation, creativity, maturity, drive, and leadership qualities. You must also have proven academic ability, the ability to work effectively in a team, the desire to learn, and the potential to succeed. 


You must have at least three years’ postgraduate professional business experience.

Academic record

You must have an upper second class honours at undergraduate level from a UK university or the equivalent from an overseas university. We also welcome applications from candidates who do not have the academic qualifications but are exceptional, with a proven ability to achieve.

GMAT, GRE and the Warwick Test

Generally you will need a well-balanced GMAT score or a valid GRE score. Our current GMAT average is 660. The Warwick Test may be available as an alternative for certain candidates dependent upon circumstances.

Application deadline

Our year-round application process means that as soon as you complete your application it will be processed and considered, so there is no reason to delay. There is a non-refundable application fee of £80. We advise our international candidates to apply as early as possible to ensure sufficient time to process visa applications, the final deadline for international applicants will be 31 May 2021.

The applications for the September 2021 intake may close early this year due to high demand. We recommend that if you are interested in starting your studies in 2021 you submit your application as soon as possible.

The selection process

If you want to understand whether you will meet our entry requirements then you can submit your CV to warwickmba@wbs.ac.uk for a pre-check. We will provide feedback within 48 hours. Applications are handled via our online application system. You will need to fill out the application form and provide evidence of the prerequisite requirements that are relevant to you: 

Transcripts: You will need to provide transcripts of your degree. These should be translated into English. At the time of submitting your application we will accept scanned and emailed copies. You will need to have your original/certified copies available upon starting your course as we may request to see them.

English language: All of our programmes are delivered in English so, if English is not your first language, you have not graduated from an English speaking university or worked in an English speaking environment for at least two years you must demonstrate a minimum overall standard in the following recognised tests of English. The certificate will be required as evidence.

Pre-Sessional English Language Course: We offer a 6-week online Pre-Sessional English Language course for those offer holders who have already taken a language test which doesn’t meet our requirements. More details about the course and costs can be found here

The following TOEFL (iBT) test results are required for each English language band:

The University of Warwick only accepts TOEFL (iBT) scores from the single most recent test date, not MyBest scores.

In order to verify the Duolingo results online, applicants need to nominate the University of Warwick as an institution who can receive their results. The following Duolingo score is required:

Band B - Pass overall with a minimum score of 125

Trinity ISE III

Merit, Merit, Pass, Pass in four components

Trinity ISE IV

Pass, Pass, Pass, Pass in four components

References – We require two professional references including one from your line manager but if you have left education within the last five years, you can provide one academic and one professional reference. Referees should be able to comment on your academic or business acumen and one reference should ideally be from a current line manager. We do not accept references from family members or friends.

Your file will be reviewed by the Selection Committee and once they have made a decision we will contact you. Successful applicants will be invited to either a face to face or a Microsoft Teams interview. The interview is used to inform the selection panel but it also enables us to understand what you want to achieve and to make sure we can offer what you are looking for.

If you have been successful you will receive an offer letter and be required to complete the offer response form confirming your decision within 4 weeks. 

You will then receive instructions on how to register and enrol and when to expect your course materials. Registration and enrolment usually takes place 6 weeks before the start of the programme.
