MSc Finance & Economics
I came to WBS looking for practical knowledge and I found much more than that. No one can deny the great infrastructure, support, learning spaces, resources, and multicultural environment that is provided here, but most important is the up-to-date, forward-looking teaching offered by WBS.
The lecturers’ passion towards the topics they teach is among the first things you notice. You can feel their excitement glowing throughout the classroom as they explain the theories at hand and ensure our full understanding.
The diverse and insightful choice of electives is another feature that I appreciate about this course. These choices allowed me to get my hands dirty and dig deep in the theories that we have been studying throughout this course.
Structured Finance Analyst, ING Bank
I gained an in-depth knowledge of economics, corporate finance, asset pricing, and econometrics, and an ability to practically apply my knowledge to real world financial problems.
The lecturers are the best in their field, which was really inspiring, and it was great to know that for all the hours you invest studying you are learning the most relevant, insightful and up-to-date material.
The climate for jobs in this sector is very competitive but applying with a Masters from WBS on your CV is definitely an advantage over other candidates because WBS is really well recognised in the industry. Employers recognise both the high standards of the University of Warwick, constantly ranked among the top universities in the UK, and high calibre of people in WBS.
With WBS’s strong and growing reputation with employers, particularly in the city, it was an obvious choice for me and part of the benefit of studying here is that many employers target WBS graduates when recruiting.
I am soon to complete an internship at UBS in London within their equity research department and I am absolutely delighted with this outcome. I definitely think that gaining a Masters from WBS helped me in securing this job.
Project Executor, Varde Consulting
WBS was recommended by lecturers at my previous university as one of the few good universities to offer a masters combining finance with economics. The facilities here are excellent and we have 24-hour access which is important as it’s a very demanding course.
We’re quite a small cohort, and yet very diverse in our backgrounds. Everyone is very friendly. All the staff are also very approachable, kind and open, and always ready to help with any issues with the daily intellectual challenges we face.
WBS offers exceptional learning possibilities and overall this has been an amazing year.
